Since 1963, "Atlas Aircraft Corporation of South Africa" (Pty) established in the Transvaal, is a subsidiary of the state-armament. They built the Viper 540 engine.

"Viper de Atlas"

-This engine was built under sublicense from Piaggio, Italy for the MB326M Aermacchi aircraft. They also obtained the sub-license from Fiat to build the Viper 632 for the MB326K aircraft. Today they are dedicated to servicing and producing parts.
