A French company that contracted the development of the "Viking" liquid-fuel engines for the Ariane-4 and Ariane-5. (Matra Group and now EADS). Bringing together the European programs' engines.

-The “Viking-6” and -4B models for the Ariane-4 (the -4B went in the second stage) use N2O4/UH25 fuel.

-The "Aestus" is manufactured by Daimler-Benz Aerospace (contract with Astrium). It weighs 110 kg. and delivers a thrust of 27.3 KN at 10 bar of pressure in the chamber.

-For the 2nd stage of the Ariane-5, the “Aestus” engine, with N2O4/MMH liquid fuel, was used. (see EADS - Propulsion System).
