Alta Car and Engineering Co. in Surrey, built sports cars but also manufactured a horizontally opposed 2-cylinder engine that gave 36 hp at 2,800 rpm, although it is mentioned that it reached 47 hp at 4,000 rpm. It had  single ignition.

It was built in the mid 1930`(probably 1936) and was bound for light aircraft.
