The 235 model gave 30 hp and was used in target drones.

From Appendix 6: Its development was protected by NASA. The engine that was invented by James W. Akkerman had the special feature to run on hydrazine.

-Hydrazine (N2H4) is a high energy fuel, which makes it attractive as fuel.

-The tests were done in a small observation plane with high performances as to reach an altitude of 70,000 feet (or more) and being able to maneuver at 370 Km / hr.

-The maximum power is only 30 hp and 15 hp in normal operation.

-The engine has an unusual design and we have no further explanations for now.

-The plane is developed at NASA's Dryden Flight Research Center and is radio controlled. The engine is installed between the two booms and acts as pusher. There is an internal gearbox in the engine for the propeller.
