Tissandier is the surname of two brothers, Gaston and Albert, who were pioneers of aviation.

-In 1883, October, they tested their airship. The engine was an electric Siemens (see) of only 1.5 HP with which they could carry out a minimum control of the device.

-The battery was 24 potassium bichromate cells.

-The Tissandier brothers made an airship with an electric motor. From the Documentation Centre of the Aeronautical Museum of Krakow we have illustrations of the device, the gondola and the engine itself.
